Inside the United Kingdom, the whole process of metrication and European models of measurement directives have been envisioned to remove the use of the pound and ounce, but in 2007 the European Fee abandoned the necessity for metric-only labelling on packaged goods there, and authorized for dual metric–imperial marking to carry on indefinitely.[1
